About the Opportunity:
We're looking for an exceptionalPastry Sous Chefto join the opening team for this exciting new venue.
In this role, you'll play a key part in establishing the pastry kitchen from day one, working alongside the Head Pastry Chef to develop high-quality desserts, lead and mentor the pastry team, and uphold the highest standards of quality, creativity, and consistency.
This is a unique opportunity to help shape the kitchen culture, contribute to an outstanding dining experience, and be part of an exciting new chapter from the very beginning.
Location: Melbourne CBD.
What You'll Bring
Proven experience as a Pastry Sous Chef within a premium dining workplace.
Experience with Chinese and Mediterranean cuisine is highly regarded.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage, motivate, and communicate with a diverse team.
Demonstrated experience in implementing and maintaining food safety programs, including accurate documentation and compliance.
Experience with staff rostering, inventory management, and ordering processes.
Sound knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety (WHS/OH&S;) standards, with the ability to monitor and enforce compliance.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships.
A genuine passion for hospitality and a proactive approach to daily kitchen operations.
Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to delivering consistently high standards.
Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to perform efficiently during preparation and service periods.
Calm, professional, and composed under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Flexible availability, including weekends, public holidays, and both opening and closing shifts.
