About the role
We are seeking an experienced Automation Manager – NSW to lead our NSW Automation business from our Auburn office.
Reporting directly to the State Manager – NSW, this is a senior leadership role responsible for the operational and commercial performance of the Automation division.
You will provide leadership and direction to our Service Manager and Project Managers, who in turn lead our field technicians, ensuring exceptional service delivery, successful project outcomes and continued business growth.
You will work closely with clients, internal stakeholders and your leadership team to identify opportunities, prepare and review estimates and quotations, drive performance and deliver innovative Building Management and Control System (BMCS) solutions across both service and project portfolios.
Key responsibilities
As the Automation Manager – NSW, you will be responsible for:
Leading and developing the NSW Automation team through the Service Manager and Project Managers.
Driving business growth by developing strong relationships with existing clients, identifying new opportunities and obtaining invitations to tender.
Providing technical and commercial leadership across Building Management and Control Systems (BMCS).
Leading the preparation, review and approval of estimates, quotations and tenders for automation service and project opportunities.
Preparing estimates and quotations directly where required, particularly for complex, strategic or high-value opportunities.
Providing commercial oversight of procurement, project delivery and service operations.
Managing the financial performance of the Automation business, including budgets, forecasting, labour resources and profitability.
Ensuring projects and service contracts are delivered safely, on time, within budget and in accordance with tender specifications, industry best practice, Australian Standards, the Building Code of Australia and applicable local codes.
Supporting and mentoring team members through structured development and training pathways.
Driving timely invoicing, commercial governance and business performance.
Promoting a positive safety culture and ensuring compliance with legislation, company procedures and environmental practices.
Collaborating with other Airmaster business units to deliver integrated solutions and exceptional customer outcomes.
What we're looking for
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Proven leadership experience within Building Automation, Controls or Building Management Systems (BMS/BMCS).
Demonstrated experience estimating, quoting and managing automation service and project works.
Experience leading managers and developing high-performing technical teams.
Strong commercial acumen, with experience managing budgets, forecasting, labour resources and business performance.
A strong understanding of project delivery, procurement and service operations.
Exceptional client relationship, sales and business development skills.
Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management abilities.
Knowledge of Tridium and other leading BMS platforms will be highly regarded.
