The Team Doctor will provide medical services toplayers and staff of theMatildas (Senior Women's National Team),working within a multidisciplinary high-performance environment to supportpreparation and competition performance.
Key Responsibilities
Lead player health promotion and injury/illness management in collaboration with theperformance health team.
Conduct player medical screening, pre-camp clearance, and cardiac screening reviews.
Provide medical care and emergency pitch-side support during camps, tours, and competitions.
Attend medical meetings and contribute to prevention and management strategies.
Maintain secure medical records within Football Australia's athlete management system.
Liaise with club medical staff, coaching staff, team management, and Football Australia's Chief Medical Officer.
Produce post-camp reports for the Chief Medical Officer and General Manager of Performance.
Emergency Medicine and Sports Medicine expertise.
High-performance sport environment experience with sound decision-making under pressure.
Experience working with teams and multidisciplinary performance staff.
Robust communication, professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
Football-specific experience.
Experience with a professional club or national sporting organisation.
Experience working with female athletes.
Qualifications
Required
Medical Degree
Member of the College of Sports Physicians
Advanced Emergency Care / CPR certification
Sport and Exercise Medicine Specialist or Registrar
Sports Doctor or Emergency Physician
FIFA Diploma in Football Medicine
Member of Sports Medicine Australia
