About the role
We are seeking an electronics engineer to join our Hobart based R&D; team.
You will work alongside a talented team of electronics, firmware and mechanical engineers to bring our next generation of high-tech products to life.
You'll be working on a wide variety of technologies such as acoustic sensors, brushless motor controllers, short range wireless communications, microcontrollers, power supplies and off-grid solar power systems.
As the successful candidate, you'll combine solid theoretical knowledge with hands-on practical know-how to create high performing, reliable PCBAs and end-products.
What you will be doing
Contributing to product concepts, project scoping and requirements definition
Designing high performing analogue and digital electronic circuits and PCBs in Altium Designer
Evaluation and testing of prototype circuits and devices
Modelling,
simulation and scripting using tools such as SPICE, Labview, and/or Python
Developing specifications and tooling for production testing
Leading product compliance in areas such as EMC and safety
Responding to and resolving product problems reported from the field
Participate in cross-functional design reviews
Maintaining component libraries in Altium
Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
What we're looking for
Strong fundamental electronics knowledge spanning analogue and digital systems
A demonstrated track record of developing electronics from concept to product
Deep knowledge of Altium designer for schematics, layout and library management
Experience with EMC testing and compliance
Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Well-developed interpersonal, and verbal/written communication skills
At least 3-5 years professional experience in a design engineering role
Experience with microcontroller firmware and embedded Linux is a plus
