The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd was established by its founding members to provide a coordinated/integrated approach to the planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the Southeast Qld Region.

Staying Deadly|headspace Deception Bay provides a protected and supportive place for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people, their friends, and their family.
Staying Deadly|headspace Deception Bay is part of the IUIH network and aims to promote and facilitate improvements in the mental health, social wellbeing and economic participation of young people aged ***** residing in the Moreon Bay region.
In this young person friendly space, services are delivered across four core streams – physical and sexual health, mental health, alcohol and other drugs (AOD), and educational and vocational services.
About the Role?
Senior Care Coordinators at the Staying Deadly | headspace walk alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients to provide holistic and practical psychosocial supports.
The role provides localised cultural support and guidance to Staying Deadly Care Coordinators and other staff members within the service.
They participate in Continuous Quality Improvements (CQI), assisting with reporting requirements, liaising with key external stakeholders and supporting the Manager as required.
Staying Deadly|headspace Deception Bay is part of the IUIH network and aims to promote and facilitate improvements in the mental health, social wellbeing and economic participation of young people aged ***** residing in the Moreon Bay region.
Your day-to-day duties will include:
Work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team to provide integration and coordination between different programs.
Work with clients in a trauma informed, recovery and/or strengths-based approach.
Work with clients to develop appropriate safety planning.
Assisting in the coordination and delivery of services for clients identified with drug and alcohol, mental health and wellbeing, sexual health and employment and education needs.
Support care coordinators through peer mentoring, guidance and professional support.
About You?
Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD)
Current Criminal History Check
Valid Blue Card
Current CPR and First Aid Certificate
Certificate IV or Higher in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Primary Health or willing to complete
Desirable, but not mandatory:
Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and /or communities
