Assistant Accountant | 12 Month Maternity Leave Contract | Financial Services
A well-regarded business is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join their finance team on a 12-month contract, covering maternity leave.
The Role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you'll take ownership of the day-to-day cash management function, working closely with the project accountants. This is a hands‐on role suited to someone with solid junior AR/AP and cash payments experience, and a mature, proactive approach.
Managing all cash flows and processing payments
Assisting with accounts payable and receivable
Bank reconciliations and cash reporting
Supporting the transition to SAP as the business migrates onto the new system
Assisting with month‐end close, including journals, accruals and reconciliations
Ad hoc analysis and process improvement support
About You
Strong experience in a similar role, ideally within financial services
Solid AR/AP and cash payments background
Accounting experience essential, though CA/CPA qualification is not required
SAP experience highly regarded
A proactive, approach with the ability to hit the ground running with minimal oversight
