Lead Plumber – Operations Manager
What we offer
$145,000–$155,000 remuneration (excluding super) + vehicle + uncapped company-performance bonus
Fully maintained vehicle
Paid licences and relevant professional development
Training and support from experienced technical leaders
A pivotal role in a specialist, growing Australian business
Clear scope to grow into broader operational leadership as the business expands
If you are an experienced plumber who wants more responsibility, more influence and the chance to build something meaningful, we would like to hear from you.
Build the team. Improve the work. Help grow something significant.
Marr Industries is a specialist high‐rise water supply and hydraulic storage company. We maintain and refurbish safety‐critical domestic and fire‐service water infrastructure within complex buildings for high profile clients across Australia.
We are looking for an exceptional, highly organised licensed plumber to take the next step in their career.
This is not a desk‐bound management role. You will stay close to the work, lead crews on site, support Site Managers and apprentices, and take ownership of how our delivery teams plan, schedule and perform.
You will join a specialist business with a strong technical foundation, ambitious growth plans and a genuine opportunity to make a difference.
The role
This is a genuinely hands‐on operational leadership role. You will lead a core team of six, with responsibility expanding to coordinate larger site teams and subcontractors.
You will remain actively involved in technical delivery—attending sites,

identifying plumbing and hydraulic issues, helping to determine practical solutions and, where appropriate, undertaking or directing the work required to resolve them.
You will be the person who can step into a complex situation, understand what is happening, support the crew to make sound decisions and ensure the work is completed safely, properly and with the client kept informed.
Your time will generally be split between:
On‐site leadership, technical problem-solving and practical plumbing support
Supervising Site Managers, technicians and apprentices through complex works
Identifying, diagnosing and resolving plumbing, hydraulic and water‐infrastructure issues on site
Planning, scheduling and workforce allocation
Improving labour utilisation, job planning and delivery standardsBuilding stronger client relationships and identifying opportunities from existing work
Working with the General Manager and Technical Director to improve quote‐to‐delivery accuracy, job profitability and team capability
Your plumbing licence provides key operational depth and business continuity. Our Technical Director remains the primary engineering and technical‐sign-off authority.
What success looks like
In your first 90 days,

you will learn our technical environment and take control of planning, scheduling, team allocation and site communication.
Within three months, you will be improving workforce utilisation, lifting consistency across site leadership and strengthening client engagement.
Within 6 months, you will have helped build better feedback between quoting and delivery, improved job profitability and grown to a stronger, more scalable Technical Delivery team.
About you
You are a current NSW licensed plumber with strong leadership capability and a reputation for getting work organised and delivered properly.
You will bring:
A current NSW plumbing licence
Experience leading trade teams, apprentices and subcontractors
Confidence working in complex commercial, industrial, high‐rise or critical‐services environments
Strong planning, scheduling and coordination ability
A hands‐on leadership style—you are comfortable on site and willing to step in and deliver
The ability to communicate clearly with clients, crews and internal stakeholders
A practical commercial mindset and interest in how jobs are planned, resourced and delivered profitably
A high standard of accountability, urgency and follow‐through
The ambition to grow with a specialist business and help build its next chapter
Experience with high‐rise water systems, fire services, hydraulic services, water storage or regulated maintenance is highly regarded, but we are also interested in strong transferable experience from complex and critical‐services environments.
