Role Overview
The Warehouse Assistant plays an essential role in the day-to-day operations of the Bowerbird Interiors warehouse. Working alongside the Operations Manager and wider operations team, you will ensure stock is accurately received, stored, picked, packed, and dispatched in a timely and organised manner. This is a hands-on, physical role suited to someone who takes pride in their work and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Receiving & Inventory
Receive, unpack, and inspect incoming goods against purchase orders and delivery dockets
Accurately record stock receipts in the inventory management system
Report damaged, missing, or incorrect items to the Warehouse Manager promptly
Ensure all products are correctly labelled and stored in designated locations
Picking, Packing & Dispatch
Pick and pack orders accurately in accordance with pick slips and quality standards
Prepare shipments for courier collection, including labelling and manifesting
Ensure all outgoing orders are checked for accuracy before dispatch
Communicate any stock discrepancies or delays to the relevant team members
Warehouse Operations
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised warehouse environment at all times
Assist with regular stocktakes and cycle counts
Operate warehouse equipment safely (e.g. pallet jacks, trolleys)
Follow all WHS (Work Health & Safety) procedures and guidelines
Support the team with furniture and homewares handling, including large and fragile items
General Support
Assist with staging and preparation of stock for styling projects and photoshoots
Support the operations team with ad-hoc tasks as required including On site
Contribute positively to team culture and uphold Bowerbird Interiors values
Skills & Experience
Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or similar physical role
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Good physical fitness and ability to lift
Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated with a positive attitude
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Basic computer literacy for data entry and inventory systems
Experience with inventory or warehouse management systems
Experience handling high-value or fragile goods with care
