About the Division
The School Compliance Branch sits within the department's Operational Policy, School Engagement and Compliance (OPSEC) Division - a supportive, respectful, positive, and collaborative team with a culture of high integrity, responsiveness and accountability.
OPSEC Division is responsible for a number of other functions, with a collective overarching focus on supporting schools with operational policy and compliance activities, reducing administrative and compliance burden for schools, and streamlining the volume and timing of communications to schools.
About the role
Working closely with branch staff, schools and other stakeholders, the role contributes to the effective delivery of compliance and assurance functions by coordinating processes, maintaining records and systems, preparing documentation, responding to enquiries and supporting branch operations.
This role offers the opportunity to contribute to work that helps Victorian government schools meet the Minimum Standards for School Registration, including the Child Safe Standards, and supports safe, high-quality learning environments for students across Victoria.
The School Compliance team supports Victorian government schools to meet the Minimum Standards for School Registration,
including the Child Safe Standards.
This work helps ensure students learn in secure environments and receive high-quality education.
As a Compliance Support Officer, you will play an important role in supporting this work through a range of compliance, administrative and operational activities.
This is a varied role that provides support across branch operations, business administration, projects, stakeholder engagement and compliance activities.
In this role, you may
support compliance and assurance activities
assist with assessments and reviews, including taking notes and preparing documents
respond to enquiries from schools and other stakeholders
maintain accurate records, databases and information systems
support the preparation and review of guidance materials, communications and reports
coordinate meetings, travel, events and other administrative activities
assist with data entry, reporting and business support activities
contribute to projects and process improvement work across the branch
undertake other duties consistent with the role as required
From time to time, you may also support other teams within the division.
