Villanova College is seeking an ICT Applications Support Specialist to support and enhance the enterprise applications that underpin teaching, learning, and College operations.
This role has a strong focus on
database management, system integration, automation, and data quality
, ensuring key platforms remain reliable, secure, and fit-for-purpose for staff, students and parents. You'll work closely with the ICT Manager and collaborate across the College to deliver practical improvements and high-quality information access.
Key responsibilities
Administer and support enterprise applications including
TASS (student management)
,
Schoolbox (LMS)
, and other finance/faculty platforms.
Maintain and optimise supporting environments including
Microsoft SQL Server, MariaDB, IIS and PHP
.
Build and maintain
data integrations
between systems using
APIs, ETL tools and/or custom scripts
.
Develop and implement
database automation
, including custom views/queries to support reporting and analytics.
Develop and maintain
Power BI dashboards
for a range of stakeholders across the College.
Perform application
upgrades, patching and testing
with vendors and internal stakeholders.
Monitor application performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions.
Proactively improve
data quality
and system efficiency; maintain clear documentation (support procedures + integration workflows).
Ensure compliance with
data governance, privacy and cybersecurity
requirements.
About you




You'll bring strong technical capability paired with the ability to work collaboratively with non-technical stakeholders.
You will have:
Tertiary qualifications in IT/Computer Science (or equivalent experience).
Demonstrated experience in
enterprise application support
(education experience valued).
Solid
database administration
and
SQL scripting
skills.
Experience with
application lifecycle management
(upgrades/patching/testing).
Proficiency with
Windows Services
and
IIS
.
Working knowledge of programming structures and ability to apply them using
PowerShell, Python and/or PHP
.
Experience with a school management system;
TASS knowledge is highly regarded
.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication and stakeholder skills.
