Position Overview
Position Status:
Asbestos Removal and Demolition Worker
Reporting To:
Operations Manager / Site Supervisor
Liaise With:
Supervisors, office staff, clients, subcontractors, site managers, and fellow team members
Expected Hours:
7:00am – 4:00pm
, Monday to Friday. Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required to meet project schedules.
Pay/Rate:
Negotiable based on experience and capability.
Company Vehicle:
May be provided to the right employee based on experience, qualifications, and operational requirements.
Role Summary
The Asbestos Removal and Demolition Worker is responsible for carrying out licensed asbestos removal and demolition work safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with Australian legislation and company procedures. This role plays a vital part in delivering projects safely, on time, and to the highest standard while protecting the health of fellow workers,
clients, and the community.
Responsibilities
Arrive at work on time, fit for duty, and prepared with the required PPE.
Carry out bonded (non-friable) asbestos removal and demolition work in accordance with Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), asbestos removal control plans, and company procedures.
Follow all Work Health and Safety (WHS) legislation, Codes of Practice, and environmental requirements.
Assist with establishing exclusion zones, decontamination areas, barriers, and signage before commencing work.
Safely remove bonded asbestos-containing materials using approved techniques and equipment.
Complete demolition work using safe work practices and approved methods.
Correctly package, label, transport, and dispose of asbestos waste in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe worksite throughout each project.
Inspect, clean, maintain, and correctly store tools, equipment, PPE, and company vehicles.
Complete daily paperwork, timesheets, site documentation, and digital job management records accurately and on time.
Immediately report hazards, incidents, damaged equipment, or safety concerns to the Site Supervisor.
Communicate professionally with clients, supervisors, and other contractors on site.
Follow all company systems and procedures and use job management software where required.
Assist with loading, unloading, and transporting equipment and materials safely.
Support fellow team members and contribute to a positive team culture.
Represent the company professionally through your appearance, attitude, workmanship, and commitment to safety.

Maintain

with asbestos removal procedures, WHS legislation, and company safety systems.
Achieve
95% chargeable hours
while completing projects safely and efficiently.
Maintain a
callback or defect rate of less than 2%

Submit
100% of timesheets, site paperwork, and digital job records
by the end of each working day.
Ensure
100% compliant asbestos waste handling and disposal
in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Safe operation and maintenance of specialist asbestos removal and demolition equipment.
Accurate completion of asbestos removal documentation.
Efficient project delivery without compromising safety or quality.

Protecting workers, clients, and the public through safe work practices.
Qualifications & LicencesEssential
White Card (Construction Induction Card).
Current Australian Driver Licence.
Current respiratory fit test.
Current medical surveillance clearance in accordance with WHS asbestos regulations.
Demonstrated experience in bonded (non-friable) asbestos removal and demolition.
Ability to wear and work safely in respiratory protective equipment (RPE).
Highly Desirable
Excavator ticket.
Skid Steer (Bobcat) ticket.
Elevated Work Platform (EWP) ticket.
First Aid Certificate.
Working at Heights certification.
Confined Space Entry certification.
Traffic Management or Traffic Control tickets.
Experience operating demolition plant and equipment.
Experience working on residential, commercial, industrial, and government projects.
