We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Business Development Manager to grow our logistics business by securing new customers across warehousing, storage, distribution, and value-added logistics services. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing long-term customer relationships, and delivering profitable revenue growth while ensuring opportunities align with our operational capabilities and financial expectations.
Please note: The role is based in Erskine Park. However, subject to mutual agreement, the successful candidate may be based at our Parramatta office.
What you'll be doing
Develop and execute a business development strategy to grow warehousing, storage, distribution, and transport revenue.
Identify and secure new business opportunities across a range of industries.
Build and maintain robust relationships with existing and prospective customers.
Prepare customer proposals, presentations, pricing submissions, and commercial agreements.
Work closely with operational teams to ensure proposed solutions are practical, efficient, and profitable.
Understand customer supply chain requirements and develop tailored logistics solutions.
Negotiate commercial terms while maintaining required margin expectations.
Maintain an active sales pipeline and provide regular reporting on opportunities, forecasts, and conversion rates.
Represent the business professionally at customer meetings, networking events, and industry functions.
Ensure a smooth transition of new customers into operations following contract award.
Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Proven experience in business development or sales within the logistics, warehousing, storage, transport, or distribution industry.
Demonstrated success in securing new business and achieving sales targets.
Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management, transport, and supply chain solutions.
Experience preparing commercial proposals, tenders, and pricing models.
Well-developed negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
Strong commercial and financial acumen with the ability to identify profitable opportunities.
A proactive, self-motivated, and results-driven approach.
Excellent planning and organisational skills.
Experience working collaboratively with operational and support teams.
Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
Existing industry networks and customer relationships will be highly regarded.
Experience with dangerous goods storage and distribution will be viewed favourably.
Qualifications
Relevant qualifications in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related discipline are desirable but not essential.
Current driver's licence.
Dangerous Goods knowledge or qualifications will be considered an advantage.
