What you will do
As justice officer - property, you will support the safe and accurate management of prisoner property at Melbourne Assessment Prison.
You will provide property services, answer enquiries and help keep daily operations running smoothly in a secure environment.
You will:
* provide accurate property services and respond to visitor and prisoner enquiries
* record, transfer and store prisoner property and valuables using secure electronic and physical systems
* maintain accurate records, protect sensitive information and follow legislative and departmental requirements
* operate the prison switchboard, answer calls and provide clear information about prison services
* complete audits, support other corporate service functions and work safely with property weighing up to 15 kilograms.
About you
No formal qualifications are required for this role.
You should be comfortable working in a correctional environment with direct prisoner contact, including weekends and public holidays.
You should also have:
* strong computer skills and the ability to learn new systems quickly
* accurate data entry and records management skills
* sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and procedures
* resilience, teamwork,



flexibility and professional communication skills.
