EDSA Group is an established electrical contracting business based in Tullamarine, working with Tier 1 builders on major projects. We're looking for an experienced Accounts & Payroll Officer to take over our full finance function, working closely with the team to keep invoicing, payroll, and reporting running smoothly.
This is a hands-on, sole-charge role covering the full accounts and payroll cycle, including EBA (Enterprise Bargaining Agreement) award payroll, plus day-to-day invoicing and receipting through SimPro (full training provided if you haven't used it before).
What you'll be doing
End-to-end payroll processing, including EBA award rates, STP, superannuation and PAYG compliance
Accounts payable and receivable through SimPro, including AR/AP ageing and cash flow reporting
Bank reconciliations and month-end reporting in Xero
Progress claims, RCTI checks and job costing within SimPro
BAS/IAS preparation, quarterly PAYG lodgements, and liaising with our external accountant on tax matters
Intercompany billing and reconciliation between related business entities
Employee lifecycle administration — onboarding, CoInvest, Protect, WorkCover and leave records
General finance and office administration using Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Light office coordination and administrative support — supplies, deliveries, uniforms, forms, and general admin as needed
What we're looking for
5+ years' experience in a similar accounts/payroll role, ideally within construction, electrical contracting or a trades-based business
Solid working knowledge of Xero (essential)
Experience with EBA/award-based payroll highly regarded
SimPro experience is a bonus but not required — full training provided
Confident with Excel and the Microsoft 365 suite
Solid understanding of payroll compliance (STP, super, PAYG)
Comfortable managing multiple payment platforms and cash flow reporting
Able to work autonomously and hit the ground running
Happy to pitch in on general office tasks as part of a small, hands-on team
Join a stable, established electrical contracting business in Tullamarine with strong Tier 1 builder relationships, a supportive team, and a role where you'll own the finance function end to end.
Immediate start available - we have a defined handover period with the outgoing team member to ensure a smooth transition.
