Job Description JOB DESCRIPTION: - Role Summary The Reporting Business Analyst (Tech BA – Reporting) provides specialist business analysis capability across data‐intensive reporting and analytics initiatives within the Collections and Customer Assist Programs .
The role is accountable for translating complex reporting, data migration, and downstream data requirements into transparent, actionable artefacts that enable accurate, scalable, and trusted reporting outcomes across various systems and data platforms associated reporting and insight solutions.
Operating as an embedded member of a delivery squad, the role partners closely with Product Owners, Solution Engineers, Business reporting teams, Data Platforms, and downstream data consumers to ensure reporting solutions meet business, regulatory, and operational expectations.
Role Purpose Deliver trusted, timely, and actionable reporting outcomes that support business and regulatory decision‐making.
Act as the bridge between business needs and technical delivery for reporting and analytics.
Ensure reporting requirements are clearly defined, traceable, and aligned to data standards, quality expectations, and platform constraints.
Enable scalable and sustainable reporting solutions through strong data analysis, data mapping, and documentation practices.
Key Responsibilities Reporting Data Analysis Profile and analyse medium-large and complex datasets to support reporting, analytics, reconciliation, and regulatory outcomes.
Define, validate, and maintain data mappings, reporting logic, and reconciliation rules for data migration and downstream reporting.
Identify, investigate, and document data quality issues , gaps, and root causes, including remediation options and dependencies.
Support impact assessments for reporting and data changes across releases, migrations, and platform transformations.
Requirements Delivery Elicit, analyse, and document business and technical requirements related to reporting and data outcomes.
Translate requirements into Jira user stories, acceptance criteria, and supporting artefacts (e.g. data mapping, lineage, rules).
Support sprint delivery through clarification of reporting scope, assumptions, dependencies, and constraints.
Ensure reporting requirements are traceable, testable, and aligned to delivery objectives and regulatory expectations.
Stakeholder Engagement Act as a key liaison between delivery squads and Business reporting, and Data Platform teams .
Collaborate with Product Owners, Squad Leads, Solution Engineers, Testers, and Downstream Consumers to ensure shared understanding of reporting outcomes.
Participate in working sessions, design discussions, requirement walkthroughs, and reporting‐focused forums.
Support communication of reporting changes, impacts, and risks to relevant stakeholders.
Governance Assurance Ensure reporting requirements align with agreed data, platform, architectural, and security standards .
Contribute to documentation required for governance, approvals, audits, and change processes .
Support release readiness activities by validating reporting changes prior to go‐live.
Assist with the creation and maintenance of data lineage, artefacts, and knowledge transfer documentation .
Delivery Context Embedded within the Data Reporting Squad operating in the Collections / Customer Assist ART .
Supports initiatives across the Collection Migration Art and Enterprise Customer Solution Programs , with a strong emphasis on downstream reporting and data impacts.
Operates in a scaled Agile / SAFe environment , contributing to sprint planning, refinement, and delivery ceremonies.
Engages with both onshore and offshore contributors where applicable.
Skills Experience Essential Strong experience as a Technical Business Analyst in data‐heavy or reporting‐focused environments.
Strong analytical skill and have experience in delivering medium complex data projects with a strong focus on data quality, lineage, and reconciliation between legacy and new systems.
Experience defining data mappings, reporting logic, reconciliation rules, and data lineage .
Advanced in SQL, Python Alteryx and Excel .
Advanced documentation skills, including user stories, acceptance criteria, and supporting artefacts .
Robust stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non‐technical audiences.
Working knowledge of Agile delivery and tools such as Jira and Confluence .
Desirable Experience in working with WBC data warehouses (EDW, SGD, GDW and DDEP/ADAPT).
Exposure to data warehousing and modelling concepts (e.g. star and snowflake schemas).
Experience in collection data / credit risk data Familiarity with ETL/ELT pipelines and reporting data flows (e.g. SSIS, cloud‐based orchestration).
Exposure to cloud data platforms such as GCP and/or Azure .
Experience in financial services , regulatory reporting, or large‐scale enterprise transformation initiatives.
Familiarity with Agile / SAFe ways of working.
Cloud certification (e.g. Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer ) considered highly beneficial.
Requirements We are looking for a Senior Technical Business Analyst with solid ECM experience, exceptional stakeholder management skills, and outstanding communication capabilities.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable engaging with business stakeholders, technical delivery squads, and external vendors, ensuring alignment across teams and driving successful outcomes.
The role requires the ability to translate business requirements into transparent functional and technical specifications while facilitating effective decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.
Experience in document capture, classification, and content management processes will be highly desirable.
Candidates with a strong understanding of enterprise document workflows, information governance, and digital transformation initiatives will be viewed favourably.
