Build On Services is seeking Project Engineers (Civil | Structural | Electrical & Mechanical) to join a major renewable infrastructure project. Multiple positions are available across disciplines, offering an outstanding opportunity for engineers looking to contribute to large-scale, nation-shaping renewable energy developments.
Working within a high-performing delivery team alongside Project Managers, Site Managers, Design Consultants, and subcontractors, you will play a key role in coordinating construction activities, driving project outcomes, and ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.
Role Details
Location: Sydney, NSW & Melbourne, VIC | Civil | Structural | Major Renewable Infrastructure Project | Contract Role | Multiple Positions – Immediate Start Preferred | Electrical & Mechanical Works | FIFO Role + Meals | Flights & Accommodation may be provided depending on position
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate day-to-day engineering and construction activities across project work fronts (civil, structural, electrical, or mechanical, depending on discipline)
Develop and manage short and long-term construction programs to support project delivery milestones
Review design documentation and manage design coordination between consultants, subcontractors, and project teams
Prepare,



review, and administer RFIs, technical queries, and engineering documentation
Monitor subcontractor performance, ensuring works are completed in accordance with project specifications and contractual requirements
Manage quality assurance processes, including inspections, test plans, and compliance documentation
Drive project planning, procurement coordination, and resource allocation activities
Assist in managing project budgets, cost tracking, forecasting, and variation assessments
Coordinate with site teams to ensure construction activities are delivered safely and efficiently
Support project reporting requirements, including progress reporting, risk management, and stakeholder updates
Identify and mitigate project risks while implementing proactive solutions to maintain delivery objectives
Ensure compliance with Australian Standards, project specifications, and client requirements
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and key project stakeholders
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across project delivery processes
Skills & Experience
2–7 years' experience as a Project Engineer within the Australian construction industry (Civil, Structural, Electrical, or Mechanical discipline)




Demonstrated experience delivering major infrastructure or renewable energy projects with Tier 1 or leading Tier 2 contractors
Proven experience across renewable energy, utilities, power, or large-scale infrastructure developments
Australian construction experience is essential
Exposure to major renewable or infrastructure projects is highly desirable
Strong understanding of construction methodology, sequencing, and project delivery processes
Experience in subcontractor management, procurement, programming, and project coordination
Sound knowledge of Australian construction standards, regulations, and relevant codes for your discipline
Experience managing technical documentation, RFIs, quality records, and project reporting requirements
Proficiency in project management and construction software platforms
Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, remote project environments and manage competing priorities
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Structural Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline
