LPC Trading Pty Ltd operates commercial egg production, feedmill and transport operations and is seeking a motivated and experienced Poultry Leading Hand to join our Poultry Enterprise at our Bendick Murrell site.
This hands-on leadership role supports the Farm Manager in the day-to-day operation of the poultry farm while providing guidance and supervision to site employees to ensure production, animal welfare, quality and safety standards are consistently achieved.
About the Role
Reporting to the Farm Manager, the Poultry Leading Hand will assist with coordinating the day-to-day operation of the poultry farm, supervising employees and ensuring the efficient running of the site.
This is a hands-on role requiring a robust work ethic, leadership skills and a commitment to maintaining high standards of animal welfare, biosecurity and workplace safety.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Farm Manager with the day-to-day operation of the poultry farm.
Lead, supervise and support site employees.
Allocate daily tasks and monitor work performance.
Ensure poultry are cared for in accordance with animal welfare standards.
Monitor flock health and report any concerns promptly.
Assist with egg collection and quality assurance activities where required.
Maintain accurate production and flock records.
Ensure biosecurity, food safety and quality assurance procedures are followed.
Promote and maintain a safe workplace by complying with all WHS policies and procedures.
Assist with training and mentoring new employees.
Operate farm equipment and machinery safely.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in farm operations.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
Previous experience working in a commercial poultry or agricultural environment.
Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
The ability to lead by example and work effectively as part of a team.
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
A commitment to animal welfare, biosecurity and workplace safety.
Basic computer skills.
A current driver's licence.
Desirable
Certificate III in Agriculture, Poultry Production or a related field.
Current Forklift Licence.
Current Chemical Accreditation (AQF3).
Current First Aid Certificate.
