The Parklife Metro consortium brings together four world-class organisations—Plenary, Webuild, Siemens and RATP Dev— to deliver the Stations, Systems, Trains, Operations and Maintenance (SSTOM) works for the Sydney Metro - Western Sydney Airport project.

This landmark project includes:
Six brand-new metro stations from St Marys to the new Aerotropolis.
Twelve new metro trains and core rail systems.
A state-of-the-art maintenance and stabling facility at Orchard Hills.
The new railway will become the transport spine of Greater Western Sydney, connecting communities and travellers with the new Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport and the rapidly growing region through fast, safe, and reliable metro services.

The Opportunity: Senior Project Controls Engineer
We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Controls Engineer to join our growing teams across the SSTOM project. The Senior Project Controls Engineer is responsible for providing comprehensive project controls support across planning, scheduling, progress measurement, reporting, cost and performance analysis, and project governance. The role is focused on delivering timely, accurate, and insightful reporting to support informed decision-making and successful project delivery.
Note - This is a site-based position requiring flexibility to work across different project locations as required to support project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Controls & Planning
Develop, maintain, and update integrated construction, procurement, engineering, and commissioning schedules in accordance with the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and contract requirements using Primavera (P6)
Ensure project programs accurately reflect the agreed construction methodology, key milestones, critical activities, and project constraints.
Monitor schedule performance and identify deviations from the baseline, providing timely recommendations for corrective actions.
Conduct critical path analysis, schedule health checks, and what-if scenario modelling to support project decision-making.




Coordinate monthly schedule reviews with project delivery teams and ensure progress updates are accurately reflected within Primavera P6.
Ensure planning processes comply with the Construction Management System, project procedures, and contractual obligations.
Reporting & Performance Management
Lead the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of project reporting systems and dashboards.
Develop and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards to provide real-time visibility of project performance, schedule status, productivity, KPIs, milestones, cost, and risk.
Produce weekly and monthly project controls reports, executive dashboards, and client reports with clear analysis and performance insights.
Analyse project trends, variances, forecast performance, and key risk indicators to support proactive management.
Ensure data integrity across Primavera P6, cost systems, Power BI, and other project controls platforms.
Automate reporting processes where practical to improve efficiency, consistency, and reporting accuracy.
Support management reporting requirements for senior leadership and client stakeholders.
Cost, Progress & Performance Controls
Support project cost control earned value management (EVM), forecasting, and cash flow reporting.
Integrate schedule, progress, cost, and revenue information to provide a comprehensive view of project performance.
Monitor project productivity and progress against approved baselines.
Assist in developing recovery plans and performance improvement initiatives where required.
Support change management and assess schedule impacts arising from variations and project changes.
Support project risk identification, mitigation planning, and schedule risk analysis.
Monitor project risks and opportunities and report potential impacts to project objectives.
Ensure project controls documentation, reporting, and governance requirements are maintained in accordance with company procedures and contractual obligations.
Prepare project control documentation and presentation material for governance meetings, project reviews, and client presentations.
Stakeholder Management
Work collaboratively with Project Managers,



Construction Managers, Engineering, Commercial, Procurement, and Delivery teams.
Provide expert advice on schedule performance, reporting, forecasting, and project controls best practice.
Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment on project performance and reporting requirements.
Support continuous improvement initiatives across project controls systems, reporting processes, and data management.
About You:
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline.
Minimum 8-10 years' experience in project controls, planning, or project performance management on major infrastructure projects, preferably within the rail sector.
Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6.
Advanced experience developing dashboards and reports using Microsoft Power BI.
Strong understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM), project forecasting, cost control, and performance reporting.
Experience integrating schedule, cost, progress, and commercial data into project reporting solutions.
Good understanding of 4D BIM and digital engineering principles.
Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to senior stakeholders.
High attention to detail with strong data management and reporting capabilities.
Location & Work Requirements
This is a site-based role supporting major infrastructure projects.
The successful applicant must be willing to work across different project locations as required by business and project needs.
Flexibility to travel and work at various project sites is essential.
