Bookkeeper
to join our team on a

, this role is integral to maintaining the financial health and compliance of our engineering operations. As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial transactions, ensuring accurate records, and supporting the smooth operation of our accounting functions. This position offers flexibility through casual work arrangements, making it ideal for individuals seeking variable hours.
Key responsibilities
Recording and processing financial transactions including invoices, receipts, and payments
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date bookkeeping records using accounting software
Reconciling bank statements and identifying discrepancies
Preparing financial reports and statements for management review
Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
Processing payroll information and employee expense claims
Supporting the accountant with month-end and year-end closing procedures
Maintaining organised filing systems for financial documents and records
What we're looking for
Proven experience in bookkeeping or small practice accounting roles
Proficiency with accounting software packages, such as MYOB, Xero, or similar platforms
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping
Solid understanding of bookkeeping principles, GST, and basic accounting concepts
Competence in using Microsoft Excel and standard office software
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members
Reliability and professional demeanour
Familiarity with small to medium-sized business operations is advantageous
Current knowledge of Australian tax and superannuation regulations is preferred
Valid Australian driver's licence and reliable transport to commute to the Figtree office
