Marketing & Administration Assistant (Parental Leave Contract)

Tourism Port Douglas Daintree (TPDD) is the Official Local Tourism Organisation for Port Douglas and the Daintree, working in partnership with industry, government and the community to grow visitation, support local businesses and strengthen the destination.
We are seeking a proactive, organised and enthusiastic Marketing & Administration Assistant to join our small and collaborative team.
This is a varied, hands‐on role supporting destination marketing, member services, organisational administration and project delivery.
Working closely with the Executive Officer, you will play an important role in supporting marketing campaigns, member communications, digital content and a wide range of organisational initiatives.
Casual– (Parental Leave Contract)
Office‐based position located in Port Douglas
Approximately 20 hours per week
Hours are generally worked during normal business hours (Monday to Friday between 9.00 am and 5.00 pm).
Your days and hours of work will be agreed with the Executive Officer and may be varied by mutual agreement to meet operational requirements.
Occasional evening, weekend or public holiday work may be required to support industry events, member functions, media hosting and other organisational activities.
Where practicable, ordinary hours will be adjusted to accommodate these commitments.
Applicants must have the legal right to work in Australia and be available to commit to a five‐six month term.
About the Role
Working closely with the Executive Officer, you will provide administrative and operational support across Tourism Port Douglas Daintree's marketing, membership and organisational activities.
Marketing & Digital Communications
Assist with the delivery of destination marketing campaigns and promotional activities.
Prepare and distribute electronic newsletters and member communications.
Create marketing collateral, promotional material and digital assets.
Update website content, blogs, event listings and digital assets through the website Content Management System (CMS).
Maintain marketing asset libraries, campaign records and digital content.
Assist with campaign reporting, data collection and performance tracking.
Support the preparation of presentations, promotional resources and marketing materials.
Administration
Provide day‐to‐day administrative support to the Executive Officer.
Prepare meeting agendas, papers and minutes.
Process supplier invoices, membership invoices and general financial administration.
Maintain membership databases, filing systems, organisational records and shared drives.
Respond to member, visitor and stakeholder enquiries.
Assist with general office administration and organisational support.
Membership & Stakeholder Support
Maintain membership records and website listings.
Assist with member onboarding, renewals and communications.
Support industry meetings, networking events and stakeholder engagement activities.
Liaise professionally with members, suppliers and external stakeholders.
Project Support
Assist with the delivery of marketing and organisational projects.
Support the development of marketing publications, promotional resources and organisational documentation.
Coordinate supplier communications, obtain quotes and assist with project timelines.
Undertake research, data collection and administrative tasks to support organisational initiatives.
Provide flexible support across marketing campaigns, events and organisational priorities as operational requirements change.
About You
We're looking for someone who enjoys variety, is highly organised and takes pride in producing quality work.
Experience in an administration, marketing or communications role.
Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.
Experience creating professional marketing collateral usingCanvaor a similar design platform.
Experience preparing electronic newsletters usingMailchimpor a similar email marketing platform.
Experience creating online surveys usingSurveyMonkeyor a similar survey platform.
Experience updating website content using a Content Management System (CMS).
A professional and friendly approach to customer service and stakeholder relationships.
Current driver's licence.
Experience using MYOB or similar accounting software.
Experience in tourism, hospitality, destination marketing, membership organisations or events.
Experience supporting marketing campaigns and digital communications.
Experience assisting with projects involving multiple stakeholders.
