What you will be doing in this role
As a Handyperson, you'll play an important role in keeping Sydney Adventist Hospital operating safely, efficiently and at its best. From maintaining hospital facilities to responding to day-to-day repair requests, your work will help create a well-presented and functional workplace for patients, visitors and staff.
Thorough training and support will be provided to equip you to carry out preventative maintenance, inspections and repairs across the hospital, with a strong focus on the maintenance and servicing of hospital beds. You'll also assist with the upkeep of hospital infrastructure, equipment and services, helping to ensure they remain safe, reliable and fit for purpose. No two days will be the same, making this an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on problem-solving, takes pride in their workmanship and values being part of a team that makes a real difference.
Reporting to the Director of Engineering Services and the Maintenance Supervisor, you'll join a supportive and collaborative team dedicated to maintaining one of Australia's leading private hospitals. This is an excellent opportunity to build your skills in a dynamic healthcare environment while contributing to the delivery of exceptional patient care.
Who we're looking for
We're looking for a practical, reliable and proactive maintenance professional who enjoys solving problems and takes pride in keeping facilities operating at their best. You'll be someone who can work independently, manage competing priorities and isn't afraid to roll up your sleeves to get the job done.
Experience working within a medium to large-sized organisation.
Trade qualification or demonstrated experience in building maintenance (highly regarded).
WH&S; Construction Induction Certificate (White Card) (desirable).
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
Comfortable working at heights, using ladders and accessing confined spaces when required.
