Due to continued growth, we are seeking aqualified Electrical Engineer (Solar)to join our technical team and support the design, engineering, compliance, and ongoing performance of our solar and battery projects.
About the Role
This is aprofessional engineering roleresponsible for theelectrical design, technical assessment, and complianceof solar PV and battery storage systems.
The Electrical Engineer will work closely with installers, project teams, and sales staff to ensure systems are engineered in accordance with Australian Standards, network requirements, and best engineering practice.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Engineering Design & Analysis
Design grid-connected and hybridsolar PV and battery storage systemsfor residential and commercial projects.
Performelectrical engineering calculations, including inverter sizing, cable sizing, voltage rise, fault levels, and system efficiency assessments.
Prepare and reviewelectrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and technical specifications.
Assess site-specific electrical constraints and develop compliant engineering solutions.
Standards, Compliance & Grid Connection
Ensure all system designs comply with relevantAustralian Standards, includingAS/NZS ****, AS/NZS ****, AS/NZS ****, and DNSP requirements.
Prepare and review documentation forgrid connection approvals, commissioning, and certification.
Provide engineering input to address non-compliances, technical risks,
and complex installation scenarios.
Technical Oversight & Problem Solving
Provide engineering-level technical guidance to installation teams during construction and commissioning phases.
Investigate and resolve complexsystem performance issues, including inverter faults, battery integration issues, and grid interaction problems.
Liaise with equipment manufacturers and network providers on advanced technical matters.
Develop and maintainengineering documentation, technical standards, and design procedures.
Contribute to process improvements to enhance system reliability, safety, and performance.
Support post-install technical reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work with sales and project teams to provideengineering inputfor system proposals and feasibility assessments.
Support accurate technical scoping to ensure systems are engineered correctly from proposal through to commissioning.
About You
You may be an Electrical Engineer with solar industry experience.
You will ideally have:
Experience in the solar industry in Australia (essential)
Strong understanding of solar PV and battery system design and installation
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including the ability to prepare technical and analytical reports
Experience using design tools such as Nearmap and OpenSolar
Knowledge of SketchUp and Skelion is an advantage
Electrical licence or engineering qualification
CEC/SAA accreditation (Designer and/or Installer) is preferred but not essential
