Operations Assistant

About the Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised Operations Assistant to join our transport operations team. This hands-on role is ideal for someone with transport industry experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and being at the centre of daily operations.

You will play a key role in supporting our dispatch function, working closely with drivers, customers, and the operations team to ensure the smooth coordination of jobs, trailers, and fleet movements.

Key Responsibilities
Assist with the daily management of the dispatch window
Communicate with drivers regarding job allocations and operational requirements
Allocate jobs, trailers, and equipment as directed
Monitor truck movements and provide operational support throughout the day
Liaise with customers regarding deliveries and collections
Work collaboratively with the operations team to ensure efficient fleet utilisation
Assist with resolving day-to-day operational issues





Skills & Experience

Essential:
Previous experience in transport, logistics, or fleet operations
Solid communication and customer service skills
Ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure
Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail and administration skills
Ability to work effectively within a team setting

Desirable:
Knowledge of load restraint practices and transport compliance requirements
Experience with trailer allocation and fleet coordination
Understanding of transport operations and scheduling
Experience working with drivers and customers in a transport setting
