SESA Safety & Environmental Services Australia – Moorebank NSW

SESA – Safety & Environmental Services Australia requires an experienced asbestos analyst to undertake samples analysis and assist in the ongoing management of the NATA accredited asbestos and microbiology analytical laboratory in Moorebank, NSW. As well as analysing asbestos samples in the lab, you will also enjoy working out in the field undertaking asbestos and hazardous materials surveys, learning skills in occupational hygiene consulting and be mentored by a certified occupational hygienist.

To be considered for this role you will ideally have:

A relevant tertiary qualification in Science, Environmental Science, occupational hygiene or a related field

Solid experience in analysing asbestos including fibre counting to the requirements of the membrane filter method and asbestos fibre identification to the requirements of Australian Standards AS4964 and AS5370

Experience in calibration and maintenance of air sampling pumps and laboratory equipment

Understanding of ISO 17025 standard and associated laboratory procedures and suggest improvements to the laboratory quality manual

Processing of laboratory data,



records and preparation of analytical reports

Experience in asbestos surveying and reporting and asbestos assessor license is highly desirable but not essential as training will be provided

A full driver's licence

BOHS P401 and P403 or equivalent is highly desirable

Proficiency testing Australia (PTA) satisfactory results.

To be successful in the role you will:

Have a minimum of 1 year experience in similar role

Have excellent oral and written communication skills

Be able to work independently and as part of a team

Be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software including but not limited to Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint

Be versatile to work outside normal business hours if required

Have excellent organisational skills and attention to details

Have valuable knowledge of current health and safety legislation and awareness.
