About the company: Our client is a federal government organisation operating a highly specialised laboratory supporting national scientific, regulatory, and industry outcomes. The team works across environmental, food, and pharmaceutical testing in a structured, compliance-driven environment.

About the role: We are seeking a Laboratory Analyst to join a high-performing Inorganic Chemistry laboratory. This is a hands-on role focused on sample preparation and trace element analysis using advanced instrumentation. This is a full-time contract (6 months) with robust potential for extension (up to 18 months total).

Duties:
Prepare environmental, food, and pharmaceutical samples
Conduct trace element analysis using ICP-MS / ICP-OES
Operate and perform basic maintenance on lab instruments
Assist with data analysis and reporting
Follow strict QA/QC, WHS, and SOP procedures
Work to deadlines in a fast-paced lab setting

Skills/experience: To be considered,



you MUST have:
Australian Citizenship (mandatory – non-negotiable)
Ability to obtain Baseline Security Clearance
Recent hands-on laboratory experience
Experience with sample preparation for chemical analysis
Understanding of QA/QC processes in regulated settings

Highly desirable:
Exposure to ICP-MS / ICP-OES
Experience in environmental, food, or pharmaceutical labs
NATA or GMP laboratory experience
