Batch Technician
to join our team.
About the Role
As a
Batch Technician
, you will be responsible for the protected, accurate, and efficient manufacture of chemical products by weighing, mixing, and processing raw materials in accordance with approved batch formulations and manufacturing procedures.
Working within a chemical manufacturing environment, you will play a key role in ensuring products are manufactured to the highest quality standards while maintaining strict compliance with workplace health and safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements. This hands‐on position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast‐paced manufacturing environment where attention to detail and teamwork are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Batch Manufacturing
Manufacture chemical products in accordance with approved batch sheets and manufacturing instructions.
Accurately weigh, measure, and dispense raw materials using calibrated equipment.
Operate mixing vessels, blending equipment, pumps, and associated production machinery.
Monitor mixing times, temperatures, and processing parameters throughout production.
Ensure completed batches meet required specifications before release.
Complete product changeovers efficiently while preventing cross-contamination.
Quality Assurance
Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and company quality procedures.




Perform quality inspections and accurately record production data.
Identify, report, and assist in resolving product variations or non‐conformances.
Assist with product sampling and testing activities.
Maintain complete and accurate batch records and production documentation.
Safety & Environmental Compliance
Safely handle hazardous chemicals in accordance with Safety Data Sheets (SDS), company procedures, and legislative requirements.
Wear and maintain all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Comply with workplace health and safety legislation, environmental regulations, and company policies.
Maintain excellent housekeeping standards to ensure a clean and safe workplace.
Equipment Operation & Maintenance
Operate manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently.
Complete routine pre‐start inspections and equipment checks.
Clean production equipment between batches using approved cleaning procedures.
Report equipment faults promptly and assist with preventative maintenance activities.
Support troubleshooting and process improvements where required.
Inventory & Materials Management
Receive, identify, and correctly store raw materials.
Verify raw materials against batch documentation before production.
Assist with inventory control and stock rotation.
Ensure chemicals are labelled and stored in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Continuous Improvement
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing facility.
Contribute ideas that improve safety, quality, productivity, and operational efficiency.




Assist with reviewing and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
About You
You are a dependable, proactive, and safety‐focused individual who takes pride in producing quality work. You enjoy working as part of a team, have excellent attention to detail, and are committed to following procedures while contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
Previous experience in chemical manufacturing, batch processing, pharmaceutical, food manufacturing, coatings, or a similar production environment.
Experience operating industrial mixing or processing equipment.
A strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to read and follow batch sheets, manufacturing instructions, and procedures.
Good mathematical and record‐keeping skills.
Strong communication and problem‐solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Forklift Licence (desirable).
Experience handling hazardous chemicals (highly regarded).
Qualifications
Current Driver Licence (preferred).
Forklift Licence (LF) (desirable).
Certificate III in Process Manufacturing, Chemical Manufacturing, or similar (advantageous but not essential).
