is seeking an experienced
Media & Stakeholder Communications Advisor
to join a Federal government client focused on community engagement, social cohesion, and public communications.
This is an exciting opportunity for a communications professional with strong media relations experience to contribute to meaningful initiatives that support positive community outcomes. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and coordinating external communications, engaging with stakeholders, and providing strategic advice on media and public messaging.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic external communications support to a senior government office.
Review, prepare, and coordinate information for release to media outlets.
Develop media responses, briefing materials, and communication products for external audiences.
Provide expert advice on engagement with media representatives and external stakeholders.
Support stakeholder engagement activities and initiatives that foster positive community relationships.
Ensure all communications are accurate, culturally appropriate, sensitive, and aligned with broader government objectives.
About You To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Demonstrated experience in external communications, media relations, public affairs,



or a related field.
Proven ability to prepare, review, and coordinate media and public-facing communications.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management capabilities.
Sound judgement and the ability to manage sensitive issues with professionalism and discretion.
Highly regarded experience includes:
Engagement with multicultural communities, particularly within Islamic communities.
Experience in community engagement, social cohesion, diversity, inclusion, or related policy areas.
Previous experience working within government or the Australian Public Service.
