Maitland Hospital and Health Service is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join its Multi-Purpose Service and Emergency Department on a four-week contract from late August through September 2026. This is an opportunity to work in a dynamic acute care workplace where you'll take on significant clinical responsibility, including working as the sole RN on shift. The role offers a market-competitive salary of AUD71.54 to AUD92.71 per hour, based in Maitland, South Australia.
Work autonomously as the sole RN, managing triage, resuscitation, and emergency nursing across the MPS and ED

High-acuity clinical exposure in a busy, well-supported acute care setting

Preferred Requirements




Demonstrated experience working in a Multi-Purpose Service or similar acute care workplace
Proven ability to work independently as the sole RN on shift, managing competing priorities
Competence in triage assessment and emergency nursing protocols
Current Advanced Life Support (ALS) or equivalent resuscitation certification
Familiarity with Sunrise EMR or similar electronic medical record systems is desirable

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent, with current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
Post-graduate qualification or demonstrated experience in emergency nursing
Additional training in trauma or acute care nursing is advantageous
