Who We Are
Moondarra Cheese is a proud Australian cheese manufacturer, supplying major supermarket retailers and export markets from our Dandenong South facility. We have grown significantly in recent years with the acquisition of Tarago Cheese, celebrated for its Shadows Of Blue, expanding our footprint across the domestic market. As the organsiation continues to grow, a new opportunity has arisen within the inventory department for an experienced Inventory Manager to lead.
The Role
This is a hands-on leadership role at the centre of our supply chain. You'll take full ownership of inventory planning, stock control, order fulfilment and procurement, and lead a small, multi-functional team – the Fulfilment and Export Coordinator, Procurement Coordinator and Warehouse Supervisor – to deliver a seamless, end-to-end operation.
Reporting directly to the Director, you'll be the single accountable point of contact for everything from raw materials through to finished goods on the truck.
What You'll Do
Develop and maintain inventory plans that balance product availability, shelf life and working capital across our cheese product lines
Oversee stock accuracy through cycle counts, stocktakes and reconciliation, investigating and resolving variances
Set and monitor stock levels and reorder points to avoid both stockouts and excess ageing inventory
Lead demand and supply planning alongside sales forecasts and promotional activity for supermarket customers
Manage inventory across raw materials, work in progress and finished goods, with close attention to perishable stock and use-by dating
Provide leadership, direction and performance management to your team, coordinating across fulfilment, procurement and warehousing to reduce hand-off gaps and improve on-time delivery
Monitor and report on key inventory metrics - stock turn, service levels, wastage and write-offs
Drive continuous improvement in inventory systems, processes and controls
Ensure compliance with food safety, quality and traceability requirements across all inventory handling
What We're Looking For
Demonstrated experience in inventory, supply chain or warehouse management - ideally within FMCG, food or perishable goods
Proven people leadership experience, including managing a small, multi-functional team
Strong understanding of demand planning, stock control and inventory management systems
Excellent analytical and numerical skills, with advanced spreadsheet capability
Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
Ability to coordinate across multiple functions toward a common set of priorities
Desirable:
Qualification in supply chain management, logistics or business
Sound knowledge of food safety and traceability requirements
Experience supplying major Australian supermarket customers and export markets
