Budget Auto Service & Tyre is a well-established automotive workshop providing servicing, diagnostics and repairs for a wide range of passenger and light commercial vehicles. We pride ourselves on delivering reliable workmanship, quality customer service and maintaining high industry standards.
Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced
Motor Mechanic
to join our team on a full-time basis.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic scan tools and workshop testing equipment.
Carry out inspections to identify faults in engines, transmissions, steering, suspension, braking and other vehicle systems.
Remove, dismantle and inspect engines, gearboxes and other mechanical assemblies to determine repair requirements.
Repair or replace worn, damaged or defective mechanical and electrical components.
Reassemble engines and vehicle components in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
Test, adjust and verify repaired systems to ensure safe and reliable vehicle performance.
Perform routine servicing, including oil and filter changes, engine tune-ups, lubrication and preventative maintenance.
Use manufacturer service manuals and technical information to diagnose faults and complete repairs accurately.




Conduct final quality checks and road tests where required before releasing vehicles to customers.
Maintain accurate service records and ensure repairs comply with workplace safety and environmental standards.
Keep the workshop clean and maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
Skills & Experience
The successful applicant will have:
Relevant trade qualification as a Motor Mechanic or equivalent.
Demonstrated experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults.
Experience using computerised diagnostic equipment and electronic testing systems.
Strong knowledge of engine, transmission and vehicle mechanical systems.
Ability to interpret manufacturer repair manuals and technical documentation.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team.
Solid attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Current Australian Driver Licence (preferred).
