About the prospect
You'll operate across diverse and often remote environments, exercising sound decision-making and airmanship under pressure. Working closely with a multi-disciplinary medical team, you'll plan and conduct safe, efficient flights by day and night while upholding RFDS SA/NT values of care, integrity, collaboration, and innovation.
What you'll do
Conduct single‐pilot turbine IFR operations by day and night, including to/from remote or unsealed airstrips.
Collaborate seamlessly with clinical crews to enable safe, timely retrieval and patient transfer missions.
Maintain currency and compliance, including a current IPC and company/operational standards.
Exercise sound judgement, workload management, and risk assessment in dynamic, time‐critical situations.
Represent RFDS SA/NT with professionalism, care, and integrity in every interaction.
Minimum requirements
Total time: 2,000 hours
Pilot in Command (PIC): 1,500 hours
Night flying: 100 hours
Currency: Recent single‐pilot IFR within 2 years
Flight checks: Current IPC (3 renewals)




Licence: CASA CPL with IR
Medical: Class 1
English proficiency: ICAO ELP Level 4 (or higher)
Type rating: Not required – training provided
Preferred experience
Operations in remote and austere environments.
Time on PC‐12 or PC‐24 aircraft.
Exposure to emergency retrieval practices.
Experience on turbine engine aircraft.
