An exciting opportunity has become available for an enthusiastic Product Developer to join our Innovation team based at our Girraween facility.
Reporting to the Head of Innovation & Continuous Improvement, you will play a key role in developing innovative value-added food products from concept through to commercialisation, working closely with cross-functional teams to bring new products to market.
About the Role
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys food innovation, product development and seeing ideas become commercially successful products.
You will be involved in every stage of the New Product Development (NPD) process, including kitchen development, factory trials, technical documentation and customer support.
Key Responsibilities
Develop new and existing products from concept through to commercialisation.
Conduct benchtop product development, recipe formulation and prototype development.
Prepare development samples, presentations and technical documentation.
Coordinate and participate in factory trials, collecting data and implementing follow-up actions.
Prepare trial reports, batch sheets and product specifications.
Assist with shelf-life testing, product evaluations and stability assessments.
Maintain product formulations, specifications and artwork reviews.
Liaise with ingredient suppliers to source recent ingredients and identify cost optimisation opportunities.
Work collaboratively with Operations, Quality Assurance, Procurement, Sales and Production teams to ensure successful product launches.




Support customer meetings through sample preparation and technical information.
Maintain a clean, organised and compliant development kitchen.
Ensure all product development activities comply with food safety, quality and regulatory requirements.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the Innovation function.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
Tertiary qualification in Food Science, Food Technology or a related discipline.
Previous experience in Product Development or New Product Development (NPD), preferably within the food manufacturing industry.
Strong understanding of food ingredients, processing techniques and product formulation.
Experience coordinating factory trials and commercialisation activities.
Knowledge of food safety, HACCP, GMP and relevant food legislation.
Excellent organisational and project coordination skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
A proactive approach with strong attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Previous experience within poultry, meat or value-added food manufacturing will be highly regarded.

Additional Information
This is a full-time position based in Girraween, NSW.
Travel to manufacturing sites will be required.
Early starts, late finishes or occasional weekend work may be required to support factory trials.
Accommodation will be arranged where overnight travel is necessary.
