Civil Engineering Technician

AUD87,000 + super/ per year
Qualification Requirements
Must have above Master's Degree in Construction, Building or Engineering related field;




Must have a minimum2 years of demonstrated working experience in construction, project management, or civil engineering field;
Must have working experience in large-scale construction or design company;
Working experience in Asian countries is preferred;
Bilingual language skills in Mandarin and English is a must;
Strong mathematical and spatial reasoning skills;
High attention to detail and data accuracy;
Roles and Responsibility
This position will be responsible for assisting civil engineers with on-site construction supervision, monitor building process and daily work quality. Detailed responsibilities include:
Documentation related tasks
Draft simple technical sketches and update drawing revisions according to on-site changes.
Read and interpret civil blueprints, structural drawings, building plans and technical specifications.
Prepare daily site reports, progress logs, material lists and inspection records; sort and file project documents.
Data Collecting, Testing & Analysing related tasks
Perform in office basic material inspection and concrete compressive strength tests.
Collect representative samples and deliver them to accredited laboratories for further analysis.
Compile,



sort and analyze all test data, then input and archive complete records into computer systems.
Take part in full-range construction site management activities, and conduct lab-based verification tests for key project technical data.
Organizing field and lab tests in relation to construction materials and soils for traffic surveys.
Coordination & Administrative related tasks
Work closely with the other engineers, understand each stage work assignment instructions, conduct appropriate working procedure and choosing correct materials and equipment.
Estimate the material costs and monitor in real time whether the costs remain within the budget limits. Proactively control and promptly alert engineers of the risk of exceeding the budget for costs.
Communicate with construction workers, subcontractors and suppliers to arrange daily construction tasks.
Assist in calculating material quantities, labour hours and basic project cost estimates.
Maintain and calibrate surveying & testing equipment regularly to guarantee measurement accuracy.
Safety Management related tasks
Enforce site safety rules, identify potential hazards and remind workers of protective operating procedures.
Record safety incidents and help engineers complete safety inspection forms. Inspect finished works (roads, foundations, drainage systems) to find defects and report problems to engineers.
Follow local building codes, safety regulations and environment requirements during construction.
