About the role:
If successful, you will deliver relevant and engaging tuitionprograms to AMES Australia's culturally and linguistically diverse(CALD) adult learners and be responsive to Education clients andstudents in a manner that supports student retention and a positiveclient experience.
To be considered for this role, you will be able todemonstrate the following key selection criteria:
A recognised teaching qualification that includes anappropriate TESOL methodology strand or a degree or equivalentplus an appropriate postgraduate TESOL qualification (whichmust include at least 100 hours of TESOL methodology and asupervised practicum of at least 60 hours).
Current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment(TAE)
0-5 years' relevant teaching experience post TESOLqualification
For some Teaching positions, where bilingual teaching isintegral to the role, there will be a requirement for theincumbent to be fluent in the relevant language in all 4 macroskills - speaking, listening, reading and writing. This will becommunicated in the position advertisement.
Knowledge of the principles of language pedagogy and adultlearning and their application in the design of programs andlearning activities that address the diverse learningbackgrounds, needs and expectations of CALD clients
Demonstrated knowledge of relevant accredited curricula andtraining packages, including familiarity with appropriateassessment strategies/tools and learning resources, includingdigital platforms, and the ability to develop contextualisedlearning programs that achieve and document learneroutcomes
Demonstrated ability to assess language level using theAustralian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) and settlement/learningneeds of students
Ability to develop and use a broad range of teaching andlearning strategies and resources, including delivery andassessment through online learning tools to maximise clientengagement and outcomes and to foster independent and flexiblelearning
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of diverse clientcommunities, including their settlement experiences, needs andaspirations and awareness of agencies that support theirbroader settlement goals
Working knowledge of the national training framework andquality management principles and systems to meet contractualand ASQA requirements
Demonstrated ability to use client management (e.g. Markbook)and learner management systems as well as familiarity in theuse of Education communication platforms, e.g. MS TEAMs, ZOOM,and Microsoft Outlook
Self-motivated with well-developed time management,organisational and problem solving skills
Demonstrated positive values of integrity, reliability andprofessionalism consistent with AMES Australia's vision
Knowledge of WH&S; principles and practice
