Application Specialist at InterSystems
About the role The Application Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the effective and timely implementation of the TrakCare application within healthcare settings. This position involves providing in-depth application expertise and delivery services that encompass product implementation, requirements analysis, design documentation, and testing of change requests. The role requires a significant amount of direct interaction with clients, as the specialist will spend up to half of their time at customer locations or various InterSystems offices. The successful candidate will serve as a key resource, communicating client needs and priorities to different departments within the organization.

What you'll do
Collaborate closely with clients to gain a comprehensive understanding of their operational processes and requirements that need to be addressed by the TrakCare application.
Implement the TrakCare application tailored to meet the specific business needs of customers while adhering to InterSystems' methodologies and best practices.
Facilitate both individual and group training sessions, conduct product demonstrations, and lead workshops to ensure users are well-equipped to utilize the application effectively.
Manage and oversee change management requests from clients, ensuring that modifications are implemented smoothly and efficiently.
Deliver successful phases of application implementation, ensuring that all milestones and objectives are met according to project timelines.
Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for TrakCare implementations, providing guidance and insights to both clients and internal teams.
Work with customers to identify potential enhancements within the product parameters, ensuring that their evolving needs are met.
Document field design specifications and requirements clearly to facilitate effective communication among stakeholders.
Engage in testing of change requests,



ensuring that all modifications meet quality standards before deployment.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the company, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing business needs.
Requirements
A solid understanding of Hospital Information Systems, Patient Administration Systems (PAS), and Clinical Information Systems is essential.
Previous experience with Clinical (Nursing, eMeds) or Patient Administration Systems (PAS) is highly preferred.
Familiarity with Health Informatics standards, reporting requirements, and relevant legislative controls is crucial.
Solid problem-solving skills and a general aptitude for leveraging technology to enhance processes are required.
Proven experience in implementing product solutions effectively within a healthcare environment.
A comprehensive understanding of computer systems, software development, deployment methodologies, and computer networking is necessary.
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while adhering to tight deadlines and project constraints.
Demonstrated capability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions for software product implementations.
Nice to have
Experience working in a clinical setting or within healthcare IT environments.
Knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.
Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies would be an advantage.

Proficient in using software applications relevant to healthcare and clinical settings.




Ability to conduct training sessions and workshops effectively.

Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and priorities.
Technical aptitude for understanding software solutions and their applications in healthcare.
Practical notes
The position requires travel, with up to 50% of the time spent working at customer sites and other InterSystems offices.
Candidates should be prepared to adapt to varying work environments and client needs.
A Health Information or Clinical University Degree is a prerequisite for this role.
