Life Saving Victoria is Victoria's peak water safety and lifesaving organisationbuilt on the proudtraditions and programs of our founding organisations, the Royal Life Saving Society – Australia and Surf Life Saving Australia.
Lifesaving has been an integral part of the Victorian way of life since ****. Today LSV is a multifaceted volunteer-based community organisation with a focus on public safety and community wellbeing.

About the role
This is a full-time, ongoing position based at our Port Melbourne office, with hybrid working arrangements.
In this role, you'll lead the delivery and continuous improvement of Life Saving Victoria's RPAS program. You'll support pilots, volunteers and stakeholders to build capability, manage risk and ensure safe, effective operations across emergency response, training and community safety activities.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced operational professional who enjoys working with people, coordinating programs and delivering meaningful community outcomes.
In this role, you will:
Lead and oversee RPAS operations to ensure safe, compliant and effective delivery across training, emergency response and community safety activities.
Coordinate operational activities, ensuring appropriate planning, risk management and compliance requirements are met.
Provide guidance and support on operational safety, compliance and best practice to ensure effective program delivery.
Strengthen workforce capability through training,



accreditation and ongoing development of pilots and operational personnel.
Build and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Support the integration of aerial capability into emergency response and incident management activities.
Contribute to the governance and continuous improvement of LSV's RPAS program, including safety systems, procedures and performance insights.
About you
You are an experienced operational professional who enjoys coordinating programs, supporting teams and working with stakeholders to deliver meaningful outcomes. You bring sound judgement, a strong focus on safety and continuous improvement, and thrive in energetic environments.
We welcome candidates with leadership experience and backgrounds in aviation, emergency services, training, compliance, safety or other operational environments.
You will bring:
Demonstrated experience leading teams and building capability within an operational or service delivery environment.
Strong experience in operational planning, risk management, compliance and governance.
Proven ability to manage programs or projects from planning through to implementation and continuous improvement.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills,



with the ability to build relationships across internal and external groups.
Experience working in a safety critical, regulated environment.
A current Victorian Employee Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain one.
Though not mandatory, the below would be beneficial:
An understanding of RPAS, aviation, emergency services or related operational capabilities.
A current Remote Pilot Licence (RePL) with relevant endorsements, or willingness to obtain.
Knowledge of CASA regulations and aviation safety frameworks.
