About the role
TheSenior Coordinator Governance is a new role that reports to the Manager Governance and Administration and coordinates core corporate governance and Council and Committee meeting processes.
In this dynamic role, you will be mainly responsible for coordinating the delivery of Council's governance, administration and audit functions, processes to enhance statutory compliance, information access, policy development, internal audit management, and delivery of high-quality secretariat and governance services for Council, the Executive, and the Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee (ARIC).
To succeed in this role you will need substantial experience, excellent interpersonal skills, and demonstrated ability to proactively identify and deliver improvement initiatives. You will need to be highly organised, confident managing multiple competing priorities, and have experience
coordinating the regular production of meeting papers and minutes for boards/committees and provision of logistical and administrative support to enable the delivery of Council and Committee meetings.
You will supervise three direct reports,



including a Senior Governance Officer, in delivering high quality corporate and civic governance services, and attend and coordinate the administrative support for Council and Committee meetings.

Remuneration
$128,****** - $140,****** + 12% Superannuation
Some of the required skills, experience and qualifications
Qualifications in Law, Business or Government Administration, Business, Commerce, Management, or a related field, or substantial experience working in a related field or a similar role.
Demonstrated experience in governance or a similar role.
Experience coordinating the regular production of meeting papers and minutes for boards/committees and provision of logistical and administrative support to enable the delivery of Council and Committee meetings.
Experience in one or more of the following: coordinating the regular production of meeting papers and minutes for boards/committees and provision of in-meeting support, coordinating the identification of compliance obligations and strategies to promote compliance, coordinating internal audits and implementation of internal audit recommendations, coordinating policy and procedure development/review/implementation, coordinating corporate governance initiatives, and coordinating the processing of information access applications within a complex legislative framework.




Detailed knowledge of one or more of the Local Government Act ****, Local Government (General) Regulations ****, Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act ****, Government Information (Public Access) Act ****, Office of Local Government Model Codes/Policies/Best Practice Guidance, and relevant/associated regulations.
Ability to coordinate one or more of the following: governance, compliance, policy development, internal audit, and/or information access initiatives and workstreams, with limited supervision.
Sound interpersonal and negotiation skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
Supervisory experience in a governance or administrative context, and experience managing small-medium sized teams.
Demonstrated ability to proactively identity and deliver initiatives to drive critical performance standards such as timeliness, completeness, accuracy and attention to detail.
