What you'll do
Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
Support the accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing and reconciliation of accounts.
Collaborate with senior accountants to conduct variance analysis and assist in budget preparation.
Participate in the month‐end closing process, ensuring all financial data is accurately recorded and reported.
Help maintain the general ledger by posting journal entries and reconciling discrepancies.
Contribute to the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with local tax regulations.
Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures to improve efficiency.
Engage in regular communication with internal stakeholders to provide financial insights and support decision‐making.
Participate in audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations as required.
Stay updated on industry trends and changes in accounting regulations to ensure compliance and best practices.
Support the finance team in ad‐hoc projects and analyses as needed.
Build strong relationships with team members and contribute to a positive team culture.
Requirements
A's bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.




Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software (e.g., MYOB, Xero, or similar).
Excellent analytical and problem‐solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a quick‐paced environment.
A proactive attitude and willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
Nice to have
Previous internship or work experience in an accounting or finance role.
Familiarity with Australian tax regulations and compliance requirements.
Experience with data analysis tools or financial modeling.
Membership or progress towards membership in a professional accounting body (e.g., CPA, CA).
Knowledge of financial forecasting and budgeting processes.
