About the Role
We're looking for an experienced, highly organised
Accounts Officer
reporting to the Financial Controller to join our Finance team. This hands-on role suits someone who thrives on variety and pace, and who can confidently juggle accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll in a fast-moving manufacturing environment.
Your responsibilities will be as follows:
Accounts Receivable:
Processing customer payments and account reconciliations.
Maintain and manage the debtor ledger, ensuring accuracy of customer accounts.
Monitoring customer account status and credit holds.
Proactively follow up outstanding and overdue accounts to minimise aged debt.
Reconcile incoming customer payments and remittances against invoices.
Process credit notes, adjustments, and resolve billing queries or disputes.
Liaising with customers and internal sales teams regarding payments and discrepancies.
Accounts Payable
Process supplier invoices, matching to purchase orders and delivery/goods receipts.
Obtain appropriate approvals prior to payment in line with delegation policy.
Prepare and execute weekly payment runs.
Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor master data.
Assisting with BAS, IAS and reconciliations.
Managing invoices approvals and supplier communications.
Payroll




Process end-to-end Weekly payroll, including ordinary hours, overtime, leave and allowances.
Ensure payroll processing complies with the relevant Fair Work legislation.
Administer superannuation contributions and ensure timely payment to funds.
Manage Single Touch Payroll (STP) reporting obligations to the ATO.
Prepare payroll reconciliations, payment summaries and respond to employee payroll queries.
Maintain accurate employee records relating to pay, leave balances and entitlements.
General Administration
Supporting process improvements and digitization projects.
Assisting the wider administration and finance team as required.
Maintaining accurate records and documentation.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
3 to 5 years Proficiency with accounting and payroll software (e.g. MYOB, or equivalent ERP/payroll systems).
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Sound understanding of Australian payroll compliance, including PAYG, superannuation and STP requirements.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Previous experience in Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Payroll.
Solid organisational skills and ability to manage competing deadlines.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Discretion and integrity when handling confidential financial and employee information.
A proactive, solutions-focused approach to problem solving.
Qualification in Business, Accounting or related discipline.
