Our client is one of Victoria's fastest growing wharf transport companies, based in Melbourne's West. A family owned and operated business, they are currently expanding their Operations Team and seeking an experienced Fleet Controller with strong container cartage experience.
Reporting directly to the Dayshift Transport Supervisor, you will be responsible for the effective control and optimisation of the fleet.
Responsibilities include:
Fleet control of ***** drivers daily
Coordinate daily fleet allocation, driver runs, and transport movements
Drive efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction
Optimise driver runs throughout the shift
Ensure compliance with CoR, Fatigue Management & NHVR regulations
Reduce driver down time, trailer hire and demurrage




Communicate all delays to the Customer Service team
About you:
Minimum 3+ years' experience in container transport and fleet control
Experience with Freight Tracker preferred
Robust planning and problem-solving skills
Ability to work under pressure and manage changing priorities
Excellent communication and coordination skills
Good understanding of transport operations, delivery windows, and route planning
Good understanding of Melbourne metro suburbs & toll points
Hours:
5:30am - 3:30pm Monday-Friday (weekends on monthly rotation)
