Norella Disability Support Services is growing, and we're recruiting casual Support Workers across
Merrylands, Liverpool, Campbelltown
and surrounding areas.
These are regular, ongoing rosters not scattered one-off shifts. We match workers to participants deliberately and keep those matches stable, because consistency is what makes support actually work.
We support people with a wide range of needs, including physical disability, psychosocial disability and complex health support requirements. Full details of each role are discussed at interview.
What you'll be doing
Assist with daily living activities including personal care, meal preparation and household tasks
Provide support in line with each participant's individual plan, including health care plans where applicable
Assist with mobility, transfers and manual handling using approved techniques and equipment
Prompt and support medication as authorised
Provide emotional support and build a trusting, respectful working relationship
Support community access, appointments, and social and recreational participation
Liaise with families, carers, allied health professionals and support coordinators
Maintain accurate progress notes and incident documentation in line with NDIS Practice Standards
Ensure a protected environment for participants at all times
What we're looking for
Minimum 1 year experience in disability, mental health or aged care support
Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent
NDIS Worker Screening Check and completed NDIS Worker Orientation Module
Current First Aid and CPR certificate
Valid driver's licence and a reliable, comprehensively insured vehicle
Demonstrated manual handling competency and a good standard of physical fitness
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Patience, empathy and genuine respect for participant choice and independence
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Reliability and consistency, our participants value familiar workers
Highly regarded
Experience with mobility equipment, hoists and transfers
Epilepsy awareness and seizure first aid training
Certificate IV in Mental Health, or Mental Health First Aid
Understanding of trauma-informed and recovery-oriented practice
Experience supporting participants with complex or high intensity support needs
What we offer
Pay in line with the SCHADS Award (Social and Community Services stream), plus casual loading and applicable penalty rates
