The store person is responsible for receiving, receipting, transferring and storing all raw materials in the appropriate area and manner in accordance with legislation. The position also ensures that raw materials are kept up to the mixer as required.
Key Responsibilities
Receive raw materials onto the site (unloading of trucks) in a safe and appropriate manner in accordance with legislation.
Check stock being received against delivery dockets provided ensuring complete accuracy.
Receipt raw materials onto the QAD system in accordance with company procedure.
Transfer of raw materials both physically and in QAD in accordance with company procedure.
Ensure the correct amount of rubber and relevant chemicals are at the mixer prior to the mix being started. Calculate the amount of ingredients required for the number of batches being done on that shift and the next shift. Where stock is not available, the supervisor must be advised.
Ensure FIFO process is correctly followed.
Loading of Carbon Black bags to silos and individual black stations in line with production requirements and company procedure.
Ensure materials are stored as per their SDS. Utilise Chemwatch to do so.
Ensure ongoing cleanliness and good housekeeping practices are carried out daily.
Ensure all paperwork is submitted on time and to the correct person in accordance with company procedures.
Clean up any spills immediately in accordance with company process and legislation.
Maintain stores in accordance with policies and procedures, housekeeping standards, ensuring any OH&S; legislative requirements are complied with.
Perform any other tasks within your skills, capabilities, experience and training which it is reasonable to expect you to undertake.




Monitor Expiry and Batch/Lot number for received materials and inform team leader if any discrepancies.
Ensure all received materials are labelled as per company Guidelines.
On time receipt and transfer of other business unit Materials (e.g. Hose & Lining)
Maintain track record of Trucks/Courier delivered with number of pallets unloaded every day. (Helps to cross check invoice for transport).
Maintain customer supplied products separately (Prysmian/Conti tech).
Support for weekly random stock counts (Like, ATO/Neoprene) and monthly stock counts for consumables.
Support for Internal Audits.
Management of cool room stock. (In and out, Inventory control, QAD transfers)

Required Knowledge and Skills
Basic maths and literacy skills
A good working knowledge of ingredients used in the mixing process
A good working knowledge of standard operating procedures as well as safety requirements relating to this job.

PPE will be for this position will be supplied, worn and utilised in accordance with site policies

Comply with all instructions given by the employer which relate to health and safety
Other Requirements
Knowledge of SDS (Safety Data Sheet) management system (Chemwatch)
