The
Senior Lecturer, Learning Futures
is responsible for driving excellence and innovation in teaching, learning, assessment, and curriculum design across the University. Working closely with the Associate Director, Learning Innovation (SEBE), the role provides expert advice and support to academic staff, applying evidence-based approaches to enhance student learning experiences and outcomes.
The position leads learning and teaching initiatives, builds staff capability, and collaborates with Faculties and the Deakin Learning Futures team to improve courses and units.
As a Senior Lecturer, you will:
Lead learning and teaching excellence
by providing academic leadership, guidance, and capability development in curriculum design, learning design, and assessment practices in SEBE.
Drive evidence-based educational innovation
by partnering with academic staff to enhance student learning experiences, implement contemporary teaching approaches, and develop solutions informed by emerging educational trends and technologies.
Advance scholarship and team performance
through research, publication, stakeholder collaboration, staff development, and effective management of team performance, workloads, and compliance requirements.
Key Selection Criteria:
PhD in a relevant discipline and/or advanced qualifications and experience in the relevant discipline area.
Familiarity with teaching and learning in SEBE disciplines (IT, Life and Environmental Sciences, Engineering,



or Architecture and Construction Management).
Highly developed knowledge and skills and expertise in learning and teaching with a particular focus on learning, innovative curriculum and assessment design to support quality student experiences and learning outcomes.
Evidence of excellence in contribution to innovative teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels, in online, campus based and blended learning environments.
