Who is VAGO?
The Victorian Auditor-General's Office, or VAGO, a passionate team of 225 people led by Auditor-General Andrew Greaves.
Our role is to evaluate how well the public sector is using resources to provide services to the people of Victoria. We do this by engaging with and examining government agencies, and we report to Parliament and the public on what we find.
We also aim to empower the public sector to do thingsbetter, andprovide detailed recommendations where we see issues or opportunities to improve. At VAGO we see the bigger picture, ask the tough questions and work to create a meaningful impact.

About Parliamentary Reports and Services
OurParliamentary Reports and Services(PRS) divisionconduct performance engagements to assess if agencies are meeting their aims effectively, using their resources economically and efficiently andcomplying withlegislation.
What you'll do
The Senior Manager, Publishing at VAGO leads the strategy,



development and delivery of high-quality communication products that help Parliament and the Victorian community understand the findings and impact of our work.
Working closely with leaders across the Parliamentary Reports and Services Division, you'll shape how VAGO communicates by ensuring our reports and products are audience-focused, accessible and delivered through the right channels at the right time. You'll drive continuous improvement across our editorial, publishing and product development processes, using data, insight and best-practice communication techniques to maximise quality, reach and impact.
You'll provide strategic advice on communications, stakeholder engagement and corporate style, while leading a high-performing team of editorial and design professionals. You'll also contribute to organisational capability by strengthening writing standards, developing communication frameworks and fostering a collaborative, people-centred culture that embraces innovation and continuous improvement.
Who we're looking for
You bring significant experience in communications, publishing, editorial, content strategy or product development, with a track record of delivering high-quality communication products that put audience needs first. You have exceptional writing and editing skills, a passion for plain English, and the ability to turn complex information into clear, engaging and accessible content.
You are a strategic thinker who can lead multiple priorities in a dynamic environment, balancing competing demands while responding confidently to emerging issues, risks and opportunities.



You use sound judgement, analytical thinking and professional scepticism to solve problems and deliver practical, innovative solutions.
You're an experienced people leader who builds high-performing teams through coaching, mentoring and fostering an inclusive, supportive culture. You are comfortable leading work that is subject to rigorous review and scrutiny, and you inspire others to produce work of the highest quality.
Strong relationship-building skills are essential. You build trust with stakeholders at all levels, communicate with influence, navigate complex environments with diplomacy, and work collaboratively across teams to achieve shared outcomes.
