We are seeking an experienced
Barista

With a queue-driven kiosk and full-service café, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring every coffee is prepared with consistency, speed, and attention to detail.
About the Role
As the Barista, you will be working closely with the Front of House Manager. You will also oversee the daily operation of the coffee station, maintain equipment and quality standards, manage coffee stock, and train and support the front-of-house team in coffee preparation and workflow. This is a hands-on leadership role for an experienced barista who thrives under pressure, takes pride in their craft, and enjoys creating memorable experiences for guests from around the world.
The successful candidate will combine technical coffee expertise with strong organisational and leadership skills, ensuring the coffee operation runs smoothly while maintaining the highest standards of quality, cleanliness, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
As the lead of our coffee program, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional coffee and customer service while maintaining speed, consistency,



and quality in a high-volume café environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
Prepare and serve consistently high-quality coffee to the highest standards during both regular and peak service periods.
Texture milk consistently to a high standard while maintaining service speed.
Operate efficiently during high-volume trade, balancing speed with attention to detail and customer experience.
Monitor coffee quality throughout each shift, ensuring consistency across all beverages served.
Maintain espresso machines, grinders, and coffee equipment, ensuring they are clean, calibrated, and operating efficiently.
Complete routine cleaning, maintenance, and backflushing of coffee equipment in accordance with manufacturer and food safety guidelines.
Maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic coffee station, including milk stations, workbenches, and service areas.
Assist with stock ordering, inventory management, stock rotation, and regular stocktakes for coffee beans, milk, syrups, takeaway packaging, and café consumables.
Monitor stock levels and minimise waste through effective stock management and forecasting.
Train, coach, and support FOH team members on coffee preparation, beverage standards,



workflow, and register-to-bar service procedures.
Provide warm, friendly, and professional customer service to a diverse international customer base.
Contribute ideas to improve coffee quality, workflow efficiency, customer experience, and café operations.
Support other FOH duties, including food running, counter service, gelato service, and general café operations during busy periods.
Maintain a professional appearance, positive attitude, and collaborative approach while working as part of the wider hospitality team.
Be flexible to work weekends, public holidays, and peak tourism periods as required.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Solid commercial barista experience at volume (100+kg/week venue or equivalent peak trade).
Consistent milk texturing and latte art fundamentals at speed.
Be versatile to work weekends, public holidays, and peak tourism periods as required.
Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
Excellent time management and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Full Australian working rights, ability to be based near the Great Ocean Road.
Desirable Skills & Experience
Dialing-in and roast profile experience, manual brew methods.
Gelato or counter-service crossover.
