Tasman Machinery Pty Ltd is seeking a
Service Technician
to join our team on a full-time basis. Wearebased out of Braeside, Victoria. We represent many of the world's leading brands of plastics processing machinery, including Sumitomo-Demag injection moulding machines, Aoki injection-stretch-blow machines, SMC extrusion blow moulding machines and Yushin high speed robotics.
This is a key position within our organization, where you will be responsible for providing technical support and maintenance services to our valued clients in the plastics manufacturing industry.
As a Service Technician, you will play an integral role in ensuring our customers receive prompt, qualified & friendly service. We pride ourselves on our customer service & support. This role is essential to maintaining Tasman Machinery's reputation for customer satisfaction.
Key responsibilities
Diagnose and troubleshoot machinery faults and technical issues reported by clients.
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance.
Conduct routine inspections and servicing to ensure optimal performance.
Install, repair and replace machinery components and parts as required.
Respond to service calls in a timely manner and prioritize urgent requests.
Maintain accurate service records and documentation for all work completed
Provide technical advice and guidance to customers regarding equipment operation and maintenance.
Collaborate with the team to coordinate service schedules and workload distribution.
Ensure all work is completed to the highest safety and quality standards.
Identify opportunities for equipment upgrades or improvements for clients.
What we're looking for
Completed apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in a relevant trade, such as mechanical, electrical or hydraulic engineering.
Minimum 3–5 years of hands‐on experience in machinery service and maintenance.
Strong diagnostic and problem‐solving skills with the ability to work independently.
Sound knowledge of machinery operation, maintenance principles and safety procedures.
Proficiency in reading technical drawings, manuals and service documentation.
Excellent communication skills and a customer‐focused approach to service delivery.
Valid driver's licence and ability to travel to client sites as needed,
Physical capability to perform manual tasks and work in varied environments
Commitment to maintaining high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance
Plastics industry experience.
