What you will do
As the Chief Engineer based in Caloundra, you will lead Omni's Rotary Wing Maintenance Team and support:
Management of a motivated, high-quality aviation maintenance team
Ensuring that the AMO complies with CASA Regulations and the AMO's exposition in relation to matters for which he or she is responsible.
External customer aircraft support and maintenance delivery
Customer engagement, planning, quality and compliance outcomes
The team's work includes scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, aircraft refurbishment and AOG defect rectification.
You'll report to the General Manager and play a key role in ensuring maintenance is planned, resourced and delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with CASA and Part 145 standards.
This role suits an experienced aviation maintenance leader who can lead the team, own the outcomes and stay hands‐on when needed.

Step in to support priorities, issues or technical decisions
Keep work moving safely,
efficiently and to standard
Aircraft Maintenance Engineer qualification, or relevant type‐specific qualification
Significant aircraft engineering or aviation maintenance experience, ideally 5+ years
Strong working knowledge of CASA requirements, aviation maintenance standards and regulatory compliance
Experience in a senior maintenance, engineering control, maintenance planning or aviation operations leadership role
Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring or supervising technical teams
Strong maintenance planning, prioritisation and resource management capability
Sound commercial judgement, including awareness of cost, time, quality, risk and customer impacts
Australian Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting 1 security clearance
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and aviation maintenance systems such as Aerotrack or similar
In addition, the below requirements are desirable:
Type experience across Bell 206, AS350, H130 or BK117 platforms
Engine experience across Arriel, Rolls Royce C***** or LTS101 series engines
