RM Civil Australia Pty Ltd is a fast-growing civil construction company specializing in inground services installation, including drainage, conduits, and HDPE welding for Tier 1 contractors. We are currently seeking experienced Drainers / Pipelayers to join our team. If you have a solid background in civil construction and drainage installation, and you value working in a safety-first environment, this could be your next career chance.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Polywelder, your duties will include:
Reading and Interpreting Plans – Understanding and following blueprints, site plans, and specifications to determine drainage system layout.
Trenching and Pipe Installation – Excavating, preparing, and laying underground stormwater pipes, PVC pipes, and HDPE lines to industry standards.
Grading and Leveling – Setting up lasers to grades based on survey set-outs and ensuring proper water flow and drainage.
Stormwater and Sewerage System Installation – Installing stormwater pits, culverts, soak wells, and sewerage disposal systems.
Testing and Quality Assurance – Performing leak and flow tests to confirm system integrity and compliance with relevant RMS drainage specifications and Australian standards.
Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and replacements on existing drainage infrastructure.
Supervision and Leadership – Leading small teams of labourers and operators, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to project timelines.
Site Safety and Compliance – Strictly following safety procedures, including trench support systems,
and ensuring compliance with workplace health & safety regulations.
Reporting and Documentation – Completing daily progress/shift reports and communicating effectively with site managers and supervisors.
Work collaboratively with engineers, supervisors, and other trades to integrate drainage systems into larger construction projects.
Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum 3-4 years' experience in pipe laying for concrete stormwater pipes, PVC pipes, and HDPE lines.
Proven experience in drainage installation, trenching, and backfilling.
Strong knowledge of RMS drainage specifications, backfill requirements, and Australian standards.
Ability to interpret site plans, set out drainage systems, and use laser levels for grading.
Previous experience in stormwater drainage installation is essential.
Excellent teamwork and leadership skills to supervise small teams.
NSW Driver's Licence (mandatory).
White Card (Construction Induction Card).
Ability to work autonomously and deliver high-quality, defect-free work.
