About the Role:

We are seeking a qualified and experienced General Accountant to join our central finance team. This role is responsible for establishing and maintaining the financial control framework for the Panda Mart Group, which operates multiple large-format retail supermarkets.

Key Responsibilities:
Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) across multiple entities.
Prepare management reports analysing financial performance against budget, identifying variances, and providing actionable insights.
Lead the annual budgeting process and prepare regular cash flow forecasts.
Establish and maintain internal control systems to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy of financial records.
Oversee the review and lodgement of BAS, PAYG, and other statutory obligations, ensuring full compliance with ATO requirements.




Supervise and review the work of Bookkeepers to ensure accurate processing of accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and supplier invoices.
Examine operating costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Provide financial and taxation advice to management on business structures and strategic initiatives.
Liaise with external accountants for year-end audit and tax compliance.

Qualifications and Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
Proven experience as a General Accountant or similar role, preferably in retail or multi-entity group settings
Robust knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards (AASB) and taxation laws.
Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
