About This Opportunity
Join a team of leading agriculture and food scientists as a Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor in Precision Agriculture and drive innovation across digital farming systems. This role focuses on advancing research and teaching in areas such as precision livestock and cropping systems, high-throughput phenotyping, artificial intelligence, data analytics, smart farm technologies, and climate-smart production systems to enhance productivity, sustainability, and resilience across diverse agricultural enterprises.
Based at the Gatton campus, you will contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, supervise Higher Degree by Research students, and build strong industry partnerships. Working within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment, you will help shape the future of precision and digital agriculture through world-class research, applied learning, and industry engagement.
Key responsibilities will include:
At Level C
Deliver high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate teaching through innovative curriculum design, effective course coordination, contemporary learning experiences, and strong student support and mentoring.
Maintain a productive research program, publishing high-quality outputs, securing competitive research funding, and translating research into industry, policy, and commercial outcomes.
Lead and develop strategic research collaborations across university, national, and international partners to enhance research impact, innovation, and disciplinary recognition.
Supervise and mentor Higher Degree by Research students and staff, fostering researcher development, responsible research conduct, performance excellence, and a positive team culture.
At Level D
Provide academic leadership in teaching through innovative curriculum and assessment design, program development, contemporary learning technologies, and excellence in student engagement and outcomes.




Deliver internationally recognised research through high-quality publications, competitive research funding, strategic research leadership, and impactful translation of knowledge into industry, policy, and commercial outcomes.
Build and lead collaborative research programs and partnerships, shaping research agendas, advancing disciplinary knowledge, and enhancing the University's national and international reputation.
Lead, supervise, and mentor Higher Degree by Research students, researchers, and academic staff, fostering research excellence, capability development, responsible conduct, and a high-performing team culture.

About You
Level C
A demonstrated profile of excellence in teaching and research in the fields of precision agriculture and digital farming systems.
Evidence of a high level of quality teaching at undergraduate, honours and postgraduate level across a variety of settings, including small and large groups.
A strong track record of course coordination and participation in the development and continuous innovation of new programs, curriculum design and course material in the discipline area.
National recognition in the area of expertise, with an internationally developing profile and an established record of publications in reputed refereed journals and presentations at conferences.
A strong record of successfully seeking, obtaining and managing external research funding.
A solid record of supervision of Honours and Research Higher Degree students to successful completion.
A growing record of meaningful internal service roles in conjunction with a strong contribution to external activities.
At Level D
A sustained record of excellence, innovation and national impact in teaching and research in the field of precision agriculture and digital farming systems.
Evidence of an exceptional level of quality teaching at undergraduate, honours, and postgraduate level across a variety of settings, including small and large groups.




An established record of course coordination and in advancing the development and continuous innovation of new programs, curriculum design and course material.
International recognition in the area of expertise and an excellent record of publications in reputed refereed journals and presentations at conferences.
Ability to successfully lead a research team, with an excellent record of successfully seeking, obtaining, and managing significant external research funding from institutional and/or commercial sources.
An extensive record of supervision of Honours and Research Higher Degree students to successful completion.
A strong record of meaningful internal service roles in conjunction with evidence of leadership in external activities.
